On the morning of February 22, over 600,000 kindergarten, primary and middle school students in Zhongshan started the 2021 spring term.
Many schools have prepared red lanterns, firecrackers, window grilles and other ornaments for the upcoming term.
In Yuanyang School in East District, 2 teachers dressed as oxen, waiting at the school gate early in the morning, to welcome students to the new term. Children also received gift bags with milk, cakes and other goodies from their homeroom teachers.
In Langqing Primary School, there was lion dance performance at the opening ceremony. Also, the whole school was full of various ox-related elements. Even masks worn by teachers were printed with ox patterns. The principal, Zheng Fengyao, hoped that children could return to school with happiness and feel the atmosphere of the Year of the Ox through these small details.
In addition, decorations in many kindergartens were filled with traditional and creative elements. In Zhongshan Noble City's Hengya Kindergarten, older children put on traditional costumes and cute little lion caps to celebrate the beginning of the new term.
