The Zhongshan Enterprise Tour for Returned Overseas Students was held on April 15. Fifty returned overseas students from external branches of the Zhongshan Association of Returned Overseas Students visited well-known local enterprises including Mingyang Group, Tongyu Communication and Meiweixian Group, and the former residence of Sun Kang. They aimed to learn about the new Zhongshan through its industrial development, entrepreneurial and employment environment, talent policies, history and culture and to enhance communication with the government and local enterprises.
In the exhibition hall of Mingyang Group, the exchange group listened to introduction of the company's profile, mission statement, technology achievements, innovative research and development and industrial transformation as well as Zhongshan's development of the new energy industry.
"This activity has become a platform for exchanges between returned overseas students and Zhongshan-based enterprises. After visiting outstanding local enterprises, I have a more comprehensive understanding of Zhongshan's industrial distribution, current industrial model, and its future development. I am also more determined to return to China for future development," said Lu Jintang, a sophomore majoring in both economics and management at the University of California, Irvine.
At the former residence of Sun Kang, the exchange group was told stories of Sun Kang. Sun Xiaokang, a member of the group and one of Sun Kang's descendants, shared stories about Sun Kang that he learned from his parents. "Exploring and learning revolutionary history is very important for overseas students to enhance their national self-confidence, sense of pride and cohesion." Sun Xiaokang said.
