From May 5 to 8, the National Youth Campus Football Winter Camp and Annual Review Series were held in Neijiang City, Sichuan Province. Zhongshan was awarded the "China Model Pilot Prefecture for Youth Campus Football 2019" title, and Chen Xing, a teacher from Zhongshan's Langqing Primary School, won a national individual honor for his contribution to campus football.

At present, Zhongshan has developed pyramid-shape layout for football, with 108 municipal football-featured schools, 67 provincial football promotion schools and 51 national football-featured schools.
