Sitting on the rooftop of the old building of Sanxi Primary School, Liang Huiyi, the kindergarten leader of Sanxi Kindergarten (also founder of Joyful Buds Education), told her stories with the old building. At first sight she was impressed by this 90-year-old building in Sanxi Village. It showed both historical and natural beauty, inspiring her with a new understanding in children's education.

It was Liang's long-cherished wish to run a kindergarten. While she was searching for the right place, one of her friends said that there was an old school building in Sanxi Village.

At that time, the old building also hosted the local kindergarten. There were 30 children and 2 teachers, but the facilities and services were limited. After the takeover, she wanted to renovate the old school building.

The renovation of the old building was completed in July 2019. The new school building is connected with the old one by a corridor, and circular road leading to the small forest. The third floor of the old building is used as a vegetable garden, where children can enjoy the pleasure of planting. The floor also provides a panoramic view of the surrounding hills, cottages and trees.

Sanxi Primary School was built in 1931 with donations from overseas Chinese, and every brick of the school showed their love for their hometown. The eclectic architecture combined Chinese and Western elements, including Western embossments with floral patterns and embossed elements with Chinese characteristics.

Traces of time can be seen in the old building, but its core value can not be easily destroyed. Liang Huiyi believes that renovation is not about rebuilding, but about making the old building exist in harmony with the modern world.
