From July 10 to 17, the 14th National Student Sports Games was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Two Zhongshan students represented Guangdong and performed well in the competition.

Jia Jiefeng of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School won the championship in the pentathlon of track and field events (middle school group) with a total score of 3,249 points.

Chen Xiaojun of No. 1 Middle School of Zhongshan won third place in 4x100m relay and the fourth place in the individual pentathlon.
