The Rural Vitalization Skilled Talent Service Station (Lixi Station) was unveiled in Lixi Village, Banfu Town on December 22.
"The training received here is great and can be of interest to everyone," said Ms Xu, a Lixi villager who enjoys making dim sum. She visited the unveiling ceremony as she heard that villagers can learn cooking skills from professional dim sum chefs close to home.
"Trainees who pass the assessments can obtain special vocational skill certificates, which will be important qualifications for them to land a job or start a business in the future," said He Yiming, a culinary teacher from Zhongshan Technician College, adding that the Lixi Station will send professional teachers to impart food safety and nutritional knowledge and provide training to local residents in spare time to help them master more skills and improve future development.
The Lixi Station is the 10th rural vitalization talent service station set up in Zhongshan. It is operated by the village committee, Zhongshan Technician College, local human resources departments and industry associations.
