The 13th Guangdong Provincial Middle School Games concluded in Shaoguan on the evening of August 7. Team Zhongshan won 26 gold, 24 silver and 28 bronze medals as well as the first prize among all teams (ranking fourth).

Zhou Zuode, vice mayor of Zhongshan, attended the closing ceremony and received the Guangdong Provincial Middle School Games flag. This represented Zhongshan's role to host the next event in 2025.

More than 300 athletes from Zhongshan participated in 252 events at the competition.

On the afternoon of August 7, Liu Zhixuan, Liang Zhantao, Jia Jiefeng and Wu Yu won the championship of the group A men's  4x400 meters relay race with a total time of 3 minutes 17.14 seconds and broke the event record.
