Farewell ceremonies were held across Zhongshan for over 300 recruits who enlisted for military service in the second half of 2022 in Zhongshan on September 5.

"A good man should aspire to join the army. We will strive to be good soldiers, make a difference for our country, and leave a good impression on our elders", said Lyu Weikang from Longshi Village on behalf of the recruits at the farewell ceremony held in Wuguishan District.

Zhongshan's recruitment campaign for the second half of this year attracted more than 500 qualified prospective recruits. More than 300 finally enlisted in the army, of which more than 70% were college graduates and 95% were undergraduates. Starting on September 5, they would undergo a 14-day pre-service training at Zhongshan Training Base for National Defense Education.
