A conference on the education and sports work for 2024 and the construction of demonstration area of basic education high-quality development was held in Zhongshan on March 15.

According to the meeting, the city will continue to increase public school enrollment for pre-school and compulsory education stages in 2024.

In terms pre-school education, plans were made to build 7 new public kindergartens with 2,300 new vacancies.

Plans also include building 4 urban-rural integration resource centers in Dachong, Tanzhou, Henglan and Sanjiao towns for the coordination and efficient use of educational resources.

In 2024, Zhongshan also plans to build or expand 8 public primary and secondary schools, adding 6,300 student vacancies and 1,300 dormitory vacancies, and gradually increase public high school student enrollment.
