China announced the delegation for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games on July 13. Ye Xiangyang, a teacher from Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School in Zhongshan, was among the delegation as a rock climbing coach.
Born in 1985, Ye is the head coach of the Guangdong rock climbing team and a coach of the national team. He founded the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School rock climbing team and the Zhongshan rock climbing team.
"We will arrive in Beijing on July 26 for training, and we will arrive in Paris on July 31 and then compete in the Olympic Games on August 5", said Ye, adding that this is his first time taking part in the Olympics, and he will prepare a detailed scheme for the event.
"We have a certain goal for the Paris 2024, which is to win medals for our country," said Ye.
Diver Chen Yiwen and swimmer Wang Xue'er, both are from Zhongshan Sports School, are also selected to the Chinese delegation for the Paris 2024.
