An exhibition entitled "The Beauty of Nature -- Fish-skin Cloth Making Skills of the Hezhe Ethnic Group" opened at Zhongshan Museum on August 22. Sponsored by Zhongshan Museum and Jiamusi Museum of Heilongjiang Province, the exhibition will last for a month.
The exhibition is also the first cultural exhibition exchange between Zhongshan and Jiamusi cities.
According to Wang Bing, director of Jiamusi Museum, Fish-skin Cloth Making is one of the national intangible cultural heritage items. The tour exhibition in Zhongshan is conducive to strengthening cultural exchanges between North and South China and allows them to experience the profound historical and cultural connotations of Zhongshan, the hometown of the great man.
The exhibition is divided into 6 parts, namely History of Fish-skin Cloth Making, Fish Skin Culture, Skills and Processes, Patterns and Colors, Protection and Inheritance, and Sino-Russian Exchanges. More than 100 clothes, totems, ornaments and paintings are on display.
