The Zhongshan Chorus Week, with the theme "Me and My Motherland - In Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China", kicked off on the evening of November 13 at Zhongshan Culture & Art Center. "Voice of Dreams" the Chorus Concert was held the same night. Both events are jointly sponsored by the China Chorus Association, the Publicity Department of Zhongshan Municipal Party Committee, and the Zhongshan Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau.
The Zhongshan Chorus Week will last until November 19. A total of 19 outstanding chorus teams are invited, including 6 local teams, 12 teams from Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and other Greater Bay Area cities, as well as St Mark Children's Chamber Choir from Lyon, France.
The organizers also arranged and planned 4 concerts featuring themes of "dreams", "future", "beauty" and "endeavor". There is even a special concert for the internationally known St Mark's Children's Chamber Choir.
Zhongshan's original symphonic poetic drama "Mythology of China", which is the highlight of the Zhongshan Chorus Week, will be presented during the closing ceremony on the evening of November 19.
The organizers announced that 7,000 tickets would be offered to the public for free. Citizens may get tickets at the ticket office of Zhongshan Culture & Art Center with their ID cards.
