The map is compiled to provide convenience for foreigners living in ZS.

To provide convenience for foreigners living in Zhongshan, Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs, together with Guangdong Provincial Map Making Institute, has compiled the first English map of Zhongshan. The first 5000 such maps are now available in the passenger terminal of Zhongshan Port and the foreign-oriented hotels in ZS. To bring itself in line with the international practice, the English map employs a coordinate system to enable every location in ZS to be specified by a set of numbers or letters. For example, G7 is the number for Zhongshan Municipal Expo Center. With the map, foreigners can easily find the location of places where they usually hang out, such as Italy Square, La Cocina and Friends Bar.

To understand the target users, Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs has invited Zhongshan Counseling Center for Foreigners to give a lot of suggestions.
