Zhongshan's per capita disposable income up 111.1% in 10 years

Over the last decade, Zhongshan's economy has developed steadily, the livelihood has been strengthened, and the people have shared the fruits of development, according to a report released on August 3 by the Zhongshan Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics.


The income of Zhongshan residents has trekked upwards, the income gap between urban and rural residents has narrowed, consumption has increased rapidly, and the quality of life has continued to improve.


The per capita disposable income of Zhongshan residents increased from 27,424 yuan in 2012 to 57,901 yuan in 2021, up 111.1%, with an average annual growth rate of 8.7%.


The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 60,323 yuan, with an increase of 110.1% over 2012 and an average annual growth of 8.6%. For rural residents the figures were 41,750 yuan, with an increase of 130.6% over 2012 and an average annual growth of 9.7%. The income growth rate of rural residents in Zhongshan has surpassed that of urban residents for several consecutive years, and the urban-rural income ratio has gradually decreased from 1.59 in 2012 to 1.44 in 2021.


The Engel's coefficient of Zhongshan residents decreased from 38.6% in 2012 to 33.9% in 2021, and the average living standard of Zhongshan residents reached a relatively affluent level, exceeding the standard of a well-off society.
