According to the Zhongshan Bureau of Commerce, Zhongshan's total retail sales of consumer goods from January to August amounted to 106.9 billion yuan, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year. The growth ranks first in Guangdong province for three consecutive months.

Among staple commodities, the retail sales of petroleum and related product companies above the designated size increased by 23.3% from January to August, and the retail sales of automobile products increased by 10.3%.

Online consumption has also remained active. From January to August, the retail sales of goods from businesses above the designated size in Zhongshan through online platforms increased by 175% year-on-year.
