China's box office revenue during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday from February 10 to February 17 stood at 8.016 billion yuan, setting a new record for the period.
The film market in Zhongshan was also hot during the Spring Festival holiday, with the box office revenue rising 21.12% year-on-year to 22.4619 million yuan (excluding service fees), the highest in the recent three years.
In some cinemas in downtown Zhongshan, posters of Spring Festival films can be seen in prominent positions. There are also special dragon-themed decorations for photo taking.
YOLO, Pegasus 2 and Boonie Bears: Time Twist took the top 3 places of the holiday revenue chart.
