"In hospitals, railway stations and hotels, some passengers, mostly are older people who can't or are inconvenient to use smart phones as well as those from overseas areas, may pay for the rides with hundred dollar bills," said a taxi driver in Zhongshan, adding that in recent years, they usually encounter situations where they don't have sufficient small change.

Now there is a solution to this problem. The Zhongshan Branch of the People's Bank of China joins hands with the Traffic Transport Association of Zhongshan City to launch the "Change Purse" rapid exchange service for taxi drivers.

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of Communications and Zhongshan Rural Commercial Bank have set up "Change Purse" green channels with unified logo at some of their service outlets that are easy to park, providing customized change service. Residents can choose standard or customized change services at any of these outlets.

Standard change purse, with a total amount of 200 or 300 yuan, contains small notes of 1 yuan, 5 yuan and 10 yuan. Customized change purse allows users to change any amount of money according to their actual needs.
