The Zhongshan Bureau of Ecology and Environment held a press conference on August 6 to announce the air quality conditions of Zhongshan City during the first half of 2024.

In the first 6 months, Zhongshan's overall air quality continued to improve, witnessing the quickest improvement provincewide. The ratio of good air quality days (AQI compliance rate) was 96.2%, up 8.4 percentage points from a year earlier.

All six air quality indicators met the standard. Zhongshan's comprehensive air quality index stood at 2.70, ranking 10th among 168 key cities nationwide and 4th in the Pearl River Delta.
